Keith Bryce along with five other designers will be a part of an upcoming fashion show called (AMF) Art Meets Fashion. IT'S GOING TO BE AWESOME !!!, Don't miss it, Get your tickets now.

Art Meets Fashion 2010 will premiere exclusive spring lines with professional runway shows for local designers; Keith Bryce,McKell Maddox, Jordan Halversen, Rachael Lorene Domingo, Rebekah McKinney and Krista Nielson. Also featuring unique designs by Michelle Boucher amidst a live fashion photo-shoot by Jake Garn, fashion art installations from SLCC Fashion Institute and an eclectic mix of performance art and entertainment. The evening will offer exquisite tasting stations from fine local restaurants and beverage purveyors. Ticket sales will benefit two local non-profit organizations; Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Salt Lake Art Center.

New Lens………..

I got Keith a new lens for his B-day: The 85 mm 1.4 And I really wasn't sure about it but I we decided to give it a go and its actually not that bad. The colors come across really vibrant and depending on your focal really clear. Especially for it not being part of the L series……. They first place we went to, was this local park down the street. This really cute dog was swimming in this poo water that RANK. It was like the Bog of eternal stench! LOL Anyway he was having a blast. We decided to try the lens out in a few other places so our friend Barbi (HAPPY BIRTHDAY) came a long for some test shots!!!!!

So the way I was told was Keith and Barbi was shooting over at Pioneer Park and WE ALL KNOW THAT THE HOMELESS LOVE PIONEER PARK. Well one just happen get a glimpse of Barbi and SHWOOOOOOOSH……. he was over so fast. These next pics are of Barbi and him. Check out Barbi's OMG face lol. He asked if we would take a picture of him. And right before Keith took the pic he yelled out …. WAIT …….. then showed us how the pro models pose. If was so funny because he was so serious. LOLOLOL

So we decided to have a fun night and get together and take some pics. We kind of had an idea of what we were looking for but you know that always changes last second. It was a little last minute but we lucky got together the best crew for the job. Janae Mechling Johnson on hair who was assisted on a few of the pieces by Nick Hemsley. Jacque Hansen on make up and Keith Bryce taking the shots. Models: Meili Mellinger, Lacy Rachelle Timmerman and Jamie Lynn.

NOPE!!!! This was a cool shoot. We had a lot of ideas for this one but we ended up changing them half way through. Jaque Stone did all the makeup and it could not have gotten any better !!! Albert Chloe was a great help in letting us barrow a few of their hand painted python bags for the shoot. If you haven’t been in to Albert Chloe or seen their bags, definitely check them out!!!

We wanted to do something with light that wasn’t post processed. And we had this huge black light down in the basement that we had wanted to use for something. So we busted that thing out and gave it a try.

So just to catch up, I thought I’d fill you guys in on what’s been going on. Months back we decided to do a shoot a where we had an old victorian look. Complete with large windows and huge fireplaces. Sandy Bee was are make-up artist who was gracious enough to let us use her home. (Which, by the way was freakin amazing ). Thanks sandy pants. The place ended up being perfect for what we were looking for. Thanks to the models and everyone that was involved. GREAT JOB!!! Just to give you a little peak, here are some shots from the shoot!

So we woke up at 4 something in the am and got ready for the channel 2 news team with Deena Marie. With everyone their we got started on hair and makeup. With the help of two of our models we started shooting a mini fashion shoot. So with a big thanks to Nick Hemsley on hair and Sandy Bee on makeup we transformed Deena into a high fashion avongard glam girl!!!

We just wanted to follow up with everyone and say thank you so much for coming. We had such a blast. I really wanted to thank all the people that helped pull this together. Thanks to all the amazing hair and makeup along with their teams, you guys were phenomenal!

A BIG thinks to Al for letting us come play around on the grounds. Not to mention his incredible wife for whipping up some serious grub! Those cinnamon rolls were out of control! And of course all of the models…(and moms) Thank you guys for being so great!!! It definitely would have not been the same with out each of you there. Can’t give you props enough. GREAT JOB…

Thanks to John Paul for taking the time out to come and cover some of the footage of the workshop. Thanks to Jen Clyde for being our go to gal and helping us get just the right look down for every model. LOVE YOU girly. And we don’t know how we forgot to mention, but another HUGE thanks to Dave Clyde for helping out and doing such an amazing job with the sets! They could not have turned out better!!!!

Catching UP !!!

A lot has happened since Project Runway........... Not sure where to even begin. I just decided to play a little catch up and show you guys just what I've been up to! Not too long after I got back I was honored by receiving "Utah's designer of the year" from the readers choice section of In-weekly magazine. And Just a year later I was honored with the same award. They held a little party at Squatters for the awards where all the local winners from the different categories. It was awesome.

About 8 months ago or so I got involved with a man by the name of David Beckstead. David is known as one of the worlds foremost destinations wedding photographers. You can find his photos all over the place. David was in town doing a photographers workshop. The workshop spanned over two days and with over 20 photographers David asked if I would make a few custom wedding garments. And of course I was all over it. The first shoot was in an old sugar factory that was being renovated. The second part of the shoot was in an old abandoned insane asylum, complete with morgue.
So here we were shooting like at 2am in some old crazy house. It was NUTZ!

One of my favorite guys to work with is Steven Robertson. A hair stylist from Lunatic Fridge who got together with other friends of mine, Paula Dahlberg (makeup), Jake Garn (photographer). We had this shoot planned out for a while and I had been working on some cool collar pieces to go with models wearing bald caps. We had no Idea they were going to turn out SO good! Steven did an amazing job the the hair pieces. The makeup was perfect! And Jake, as always shoot a perfect shot! They ended up being published in a few magazines......!!!!!

And A blast from the past - Sundance last year 2009, I hosted a "Paper Doll Show" Where I showed off pieces of my art work inspired by outfits I had made for a shoot, now known as the "antler series". I had live models, antlers and all, showing off my pieces. The event went off with out a hitch. Tons of friends and family showed up for the press filled event. It was funny to see the peoples faces when they walked passed the windows and saw 3 she models with crazy antlers shooting out of this crazy cool hair.

And the latest thing that went down, I already kind of talked about. It was Sundance this year where It was every thing LOCAL!

Sundance Film Festival

The other night we were invited to do a pedestal fashion show for Sundance's film festival, (Local's take back). The models were positioned all around the venue showing off 5 other local designers garments. The night was filled with everything local from utah: Bands, food, art etc. It was a good time. This shoot was done up north somewhere in an old car cemetery. It was almost 8pm so most of the lighting was natural. There were mosquitoes freekin EVERYWHERE. They were so bad hey had to be photoshopped off the models. The candid shoots were taken by Ryan Muirhead and the final shots where taken by Jake Garn. Here is some pics during the shoot!
